B: I'm fine. (B said that he was fine)
A: Where do you live? i've never seen you since 2 years ago. (A asked B where did he live and told that he had never see him since 2 years ago)
B: Yes,sory i didn't tell you about this. I'm living at Bekasi now. (B said sorry for had not told him about that and told he was lived at Bekasi)
A: Never mind. How about your school? (A asked B how about his school was)
B: For school i still in SMA 70 (B said that he was still in SMA 70)
A: Okay. I have to go. (A said that he had to go)
B: Yes. Be careful

QUOTED SPEECH

Quoted Speech adalah suatu kalimat perkataan yang diucapkan kembali atas perkataan yang telah di ucapkan oleh seseorang.

Quoted speech bias juga disebut Direct speech.

Quoted speech bias ditandai dengan dua tanda kutip (“…”)

Contoh:

She said,”Today’s lesson is on presentations.”

“Today’s lesson is on presentations,” she said.

REPORTED SPEECH

Reported speech adalah kalimat perkataan masa lampau yang dinyatakan kembali pada saat sekarang. Oleh karena itu dalam reported speech biasanya tenses akan berubah. Reported speech tidak menggunakan dua tanda kutip (“…”) untuk menyatakan kalimatnya.

Contoh:

“I’m going to the cinema”,he said.   >>>   He said he was going to the cinema.
